Detailed Description
This 9-3/4" x 7-1/2" (24.75 cm x 19.25 cm) plastic abacus is grouped in 5s and 10s to encourage quantity recognition and visualization. On one side the child performs basic operations and learns strategies for mastering the facts. On the reverse side, trading is emphasized. The interactive AL Abacus for available you to explore on our website. You can work with addition and multiplication using trading and quantity recognition. Place value cards and the math way of counting are also shown. An electronic version from NCTM is available for you to explore. Use with RightStart™ Mathematics Levels A, B, C, D / Grades K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and RightStart™ Mathematics Transition Lessons. When you purchase one AL Abacus Standard at regular price, $20, you can purchase additional abacuses at $15 each. Discount will be applied to the order when it is processed; you will not see the change on your receipt when the order is placed. This is applicable when the order includes two or more AL Abacuses.

This is a great product! It is wonderful for helping the children to visualize math concepts and equations. They enjoy using it, and it has definitely been an asset to our math lessons.

Great for Young Children

This is a great product for younger children who might not have the manual dexterity to use a smaller abacus. Also, the use of 2 colors for the beads makes understanding the concept of grouping by 5 much easier.
It's also just a fun manipulative for the kids to use. Both my children get excited at the prospect of using the abacus, and WANT to do math because of it!

This is a sturdy, lightweight abacus and just the right size for my child. She is eight and will be able to use this for a long, long time! Good product!

This is a wonderful product. It has helped my children tremendously with understanding foundational concepts of mathematics, which they can easily build on. I wish I had learn math this way!

The AL abacus lends itself to versatile visual and manipulative learning. You are able to demonstrate, practice and internalize every math operation. It is unique in its color coding and double sided uses.
Not only is it great for math, but it has survived 6 kids and is still working great!
